Love – Madness – Tentacles QUANTUM TERROR

We believe that great films can be made in Austin TX, independent from any Hollywood influence and that some of the best talent for doing so, lives right here. We believe that a horror movie can still be smart, sexy, scary, and (most important of all) original, despite a vast landscape of zombie and slasher knockoffs. We believe that old school makeup and practical effects can still thrill audiences in an industry dominated by big budget CGI movies.Production has already started, but if you believe these things too, then there’s still time to strap yourself in and ride with us into The Quantum Terror.

We’re passionate about sci-fi/horror that involves crazy creatures with tentacles, teeth, claws, and off the wall concepts, that weave together in a good story.  We have fun with these ideas, but take them very seriously, too. We aim to bring together some of the top independent film making talents residing in Austin, TX to demonstrate that (now more than ever) artistry over a big studio budget can make for excellent film making.ment for his work on the film.

Samantha Carol’s twin sister Silvia has gone missing, without a trace. The only clues that Sam has to go on are notebooks filled with strange quantum physics equations combined with scribblings about the occult, that have been left behind. Silvia’s ex-boyfriend and fellow college classmate claims he has seen her going into the nearby drainage tunnels that run under the town he lives in, however he himself is a suspect in her disappearance.

Accompanied by Sam’s concerned ex-lover Lucy, with new boyfriend in tow, the now group of four go down into the tunnels where strange alien creatures and alterations of reality, will confront them with their deepest desires and darkest inner truths. Now, the question isn’t just whether they will find Silvia or not, but if it’s even possible for them to ever get out again.

This film is to showcase an amazing group of talent that has come together in Austin, TX while making sure that they get a least a little bit of well deserved money in their pockets. The story will demonstrate that as a team, we have the passion, knowledge, and imagination to make a low budget story, that takes place almost entirely in dark tunnels, that can be compelling, frightening, sexy, and emotional. We plan on using old school practical effects, puppets, and miniatures, with a little bit of digital help, with an over all focus on the artistry that is unique to the exceptional core team that we’ve put together. The story itself is very modern, using the film’s “creature” as a way of offering commentary on issues that have helped to shape the world we now live in, including same sex       relationships, the implications of giant scientific          revelations, freedom of choice, sexuality, spirituality, and the struggle to maintain a sense of self in the face of it all.
