The Unseen  comes to Screamfest, perfectly timed for Halloween. After a world premiere at Fantasia 2016 in Montreal and a wave of critical acclaim (Screen Anarchy, Variety, Hollywood Reporter), Geoff Redknap’s debut feature will have its US premiere at The 16th Annual Screamfest Horror Film Festival, in Hollywood, October 25 at 9:30pm at the world famous TCL Chinese 6 Theatre.

In a modern retelling of the classic The Invisible ManThe Unseen  is the story of Bob Langmore (Aden Young) a former hockey player, now a struggling mill worker who years earlier mysteriously abandoned his family and isolated himself in a small northern town. He returns for one last chance to reconnect with his troubled daughter Eva (Julia Sarah Stone), but must partner with Crisby (Ben Cotton), a strung-out animal trafficker, to finance the trip. When he discovers Eva is missing, Bob will risk everything to find her including exposing the secret that he is becoming invisible. The film combines the drama of a family disintegrating both figuratively and literally, in this gritty action science fiction thriller.

Exceptional… The best of its kind to come along since  Unbreakable… When you look at the debut films of currently top-of-their game filmmakers like Rian Johnson and Gareth Edwards (at the moment, hard at work on sizably budgeted  Star Wars films), who made technically ambitious but softly empathic films right out of the gate it is not hard to see the potential on display here. The Unseen  is a gift to those who value character and a more tender kind of storytelling; undoubtedly it is a sure sign of many more great things to come.” -Screen Anarchy

The Unseen  is written and directed by Geoff Redknap and is his first feature film. Redknap is best known for his special makeup effects work on Deadpool  (2016), The Cabin in the Woods  (2012), Warcraft  (2016) and Star Trek Beyond  (2016) to name a few. The Unseen  stars Aden Young (Rectify, Black Robe), Julia Sarah Stone (The Killing, Falling Skies, Aftermath), Ben Cotton (Battlestar Galactica) and Camille Sullivan (The Man in the High Castle, Gemini nominated (Shattered ) and Leo Award winner (Normal)).

The film is produced with the participation of Telefilm Canada and produced by Katie Weekley for Goonworks Films.

Oh, I almost forgot, I really dig horror movies; new ones, old ones, it matters not; I love 'em. Husband, father, veteran and scribbler. I like bacon as well. The Mouse abides 😉
