Producer Jason Hudson Talks Sequel To HAZARD JACK

LEGLESSCORPSE: You’re currently in development for the sequel to the original film Hazard Jack. What made you want to come back and revisit this huge bulk of a man with some issues with PTSD?

JASON HUDSON: Yes, we’re developing a remake/sequel or sequel how ever you would like to put it. We feel very confident and string about giving Hazard Jack a quality story. The first film was average at best and I had nothing to do with the story elements. I came along after the film was shot and did some reshoots to help give the original some story and potential momentum. And seeing how it turned out got me to thinking that there’s maybe something there that needs fleshing out and exploring whole honoring and hopefully moving the slasher genre forward.

LC: In independent film there are always compromises and opportunities lost. Will there be anything you will include in the sequel that you wanted to originally shot in the original, but just feasibly couldn’t pull off for one reason or another?

JH: There are two primary goals with the sequel. The first is to give a story that people can follow that’s fun and entertaining. The second would be to introduce exciting kill sequences that haven’t been done or thought about. When you look at Hazard Jack you see power and aggression. I would like to have these and other elements be prominent during the sequences.

LC: Will you be trying to get some of the original cast members back to reprise their roles?

JH: That’s a good question. As I don’t even know where the second story will go. It’s always a possibility.

LC: You currently have a crowd funding campaign going for a show reel for the sequel, how far along on the actual movie are you? Is there a script written, any footage shot, etc?

JH: Right now we’re concentrating solely on the campaign and making sketches as to what the story will be. The story will take place during the time of Halloween..at a cabin..

LC: With the completion of the campaign video will this be used to obtain funds and secure investors, or do you have other plans for it?

JH: Yes. We are using the video as a tool to obtain funds and secure early development funds.

LC: When would you like to begin actual production on the sequel?

JH: Late spring.

LC: Besides the next adventures of Hazard Jack, is there any other projects your working on?

JH: Just finished writing a short film called “Censura Excessum”, which I plan on shooting in 6 weeks.
