Interview With Actress DARCY DONOVAN

Hi Darcy, hard questions first : What’s it like being a mermaid? Do you feel like an outsider sometimes?

Being a Mermaid is AMAZING! LOL:):) I get to swim in the ocean and meet all sorts of sea creatures, birds, pirates and sailors. I have all sorts of fun adventures and sometimes, I think I might even be able to save the world! (With the help of a talented plumber of course ;): )

Honestly, I don’t feel like an outsider, even though I’m not like anybody else. Yeah, I may not be a full fish and I may not be a full human, but I do enjoy it, since I get the best of both worlds. (hee hee):):):)

Ok, in all seriousness, Is it easy to move around with that fish tail?

Ok, Seriously? HELL NO, LOL! It was definitely a task. Think of somebody putting  cement blocks on your legs and telling you to move around. It was extremely hard to move with the fish tail, since it weighed quite a bit. They had to have somebody carry me around everywhere I needed to go, or I had to be pushed around on a little dolly. It was quite comical to say the least. LOL!

I believe MovieMaze liked you so much, they’ve kept you on the payroll.  The Plumber is your second film with them, right?

Yes. I think it is because we all got along so well. This is my second film with them and I have to say, I’ve had a great experience with everything we have worked on together. Maria, Eric and Rishi are such talented filmmakers and they are also some of the sweetest people that you could ever meet. To me, working with great people makes everything so much more enjoyable. The cast and crew were also fabulous and we were all like a little family. When the filming ended, I was sad that I had to go home, since we all had so much fun together.

And how does it exactly work? You get to choose the ending of each story?

Yes. It’s just like the “choose your own adventure” books  from when you were a kid. As the story progresses you have different options to choose from. The Plumber is really fun, because some of the choices will  lead you to some completely unexpected outcomes. 😉

Is doing a ‘game’, so to speak, the same as doing a movie? Any noticeable differences?

Actually, they are very different. I have found that it is much more challenging to film a game than it is to film a movie. There are so many more plotlines and ways that the story can go in a game and the lines change as the story changes. It makes it a lot more tricky to memorize the scenes. It was one of the most interesting projects that I have worked on.

Did it take long to film?

No. It did not take long to film. Production was on their game and because of that they were able to get all the scenes filmed in a very timely manner. We did have rehearsals before we filmed, so that everything would run smoothly.

How important do you believe the internet is as a marketing tool with an ‘app’ like this?

The internet is crucial as a marketing tool for any film, television or app nowadays. Directors and producers are now looking  at the social media presence of the actors they cast since it makes a big difference in viewers, as well as in sales  and promotion. When you look at all your major film and music artists out there, the most successful ones  all have massive followings that have helped to increase the popularity of every project that they have been a part of.

You’ve done a couple of horror/sci-fi movies now. What are you favorite scary movies?

When it comes to scary movies, I love the old school style with some of my favorites being “Halloween” and “Friday the 13th”. I also really liked the new movie “The Possession” that my buddy Nana Gbewonyo was in. That move was really freaky!  In terms of Sci -Fi I loved “Aliens” Hmmm What else? Oh Yeah! I loved “Predator” and Oh Yeah I loved “Poltergeist” too! Oh Yeah and… (I could go on and on so I’s better stop now.)LOL:):) I’m such a big nerd. LOL!

Has being on Parks & Recreation boosted your profile? What have you been up to since that?

I had a lot of fun filming Parks & Recreation with Chris Pratt. He is such a sweetheart. The cast and crew were absolutely amazing. Working on that project was so much fun.

Right now, I am in the process of getting the music video done for my single that is coming out. I was really excited that my last single “It’s My Life” charted on the top ten on Itunes. I am also working on recording a few new tracks, as well as writing several books and a screenplay. I am also getting ready to start filming on an action/suspense thriller film, “The Final Table”. I get to play the role of a poker champion, so I am really looking forward to that since I LOVE poker. I am very excited about the role and I have to start working on my poker face. LOL!

Thank you so much Legless Corpse for your great questions!:):):) Also, thank you to all the readers and my amazing fans that are with me on this journey! You all inspire me each and every day! God Bless!:):):)Hugs** DARCY**
