THE HONOR FARM: A New Teen Thriller, Set on Prom Night It’s prom night…What could go wrong?

imageHelp us Kickstart THE HONOR FARM production! This film is a unique coming-of-age thriller that follows high school senior Lucy’s prom night, where she abandons the usual prom night script for a dark and surreal adventure to a local satanic hideout with a wild gang of kids and a handsome boy she barely knows.

We have 30 days to raise the $50,000 goal we have for production of the film. If we don’t meet our goal we don’t get to keep the other contributions—it’s an all or nothing deal! So far, we have raised nearly $20K in two weeks thanks to over 150 backers! We are thrilled and humbled to earn the support of so many already. Thank you!

We’ve done a lot of great work on THE HONOR FARM, but the film’s not completed yet. We still need to continue production, which means paying for our actors, cameras and lights. Once we’re in post-production, we’ll need an editor, sound mixer, composer, colorist, etc. Not to mention, we’ll need to pay to send this to film festivals and get it out into the world!

Filmmaking is expensive and to bring everyone back to finish production we’ll need your help to raise $50K. So, we are here on Kickstarter, sharing our film project with the world and we want you to join us in making and completing THE HONOR FARM.

Donations are accepted and greatly appreciated. But, if you can’t donate, SHARE and our campaign can go a very long way. Spreading the word through social media and email (and all those other things kids are using these days) will help us get that much closer to reaching our goal.

FOLLOW and LIKE us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, to get fun updates about the movie! We have 30 days to raise $50+K, so let’s keep this campaign going strong!

Money raised here goes straight into the making of the film—the production phase. Funds pay for film equipment rental, travel and lodging for cast and crew, as well as wages for everyone involved in making the film. The more we raise—the bigger and better production gets!

Crowd funding is a great way to begin building a larger community for our film. This is a movie made for teens of all ages, and we believe that the best way to get people interested in an independent film like this is to start getting the word out now.

Though THE HONOR FARM is definitely a scary movie, and it will be SCARY…it’s got another purpose. Films by and for women are definitely on the rise (yay!) and this movie lends a female voice to an age-old struggle—the pain of finding out who you are. Anyone who dares to remember junior high can testify that coming of age can be a horror story in and of itself.

Told through a young woman’s lens, this film explores how society doesn’t offer many meaningful rites of passage for teens. “The Honor Farm”is a story intended to empower and encourage viewers to go deeper than consumer culture typically allows, and to invent something more meaningful to take its place. It is also a counterpoint to dystopian ‘80s teen movies, picking up where PRETTY IN PINK left off while still taking notes from HEATHERS and RIVERS EDGE. THE HONOR FARM is a movie about embracing change and growth, about exploring the spaces between things—taking the familiar from a canted angle and making it new and fresh to behold.
