OTHER HALVES Announces Theatrical Release Date Of January 8th

Other Halves, the horror film about a killer dating app, will be playing on the big screen starting on January 8th. Can’t wait that long? Here’s a new (NSFW) clip, featuring Lauren Lakis as Devon, one of the lead programmers.

After a successful circuit of horror festivals, including Other Worlds Austin, ZedFest, and Another Hole in the Head, Other Halves will now be terrifying general audiences. The theatrical run begins in Grand Rapids, home town of director Matthew T. Price.

I couldn’t be more excited,” says the first time director, “that my debut film will be playing on the same screens where I learned to love cinema. It’ll be a like homecoming. A Carrie-style homecoming, with lots of blood.”

Other Halves stars Lauren Lakis (Hybrids, Dr Ken) and Mercedes Manning (Strictly Sexual, Zipper) as programmers who develop a revolutionary new dating app called Other Halves. On the night before the app is set to launch, they discover it causes strange side effects: users lose all self-control, becoming amoral, lascivious, violent, evil. They consider shutting the app down, but…

Evil is profitable.

Other Halves – In theaters January 8th

Other Halves won the Best Micro-Budget Feature award at ZedFest 2015. The Austin Chronicle calls it “part giallo, part techno-horror, part Cronenberg-style Jekyll and Hyde riff, part acerbic sex comedy, and a wry commentary about the addictive nature of technology.” Shock Till You Drop says it’s “a satirical and techno-savvy film laced with more than just a drizzle of Sci-Fi.”

Other Halves, from One Oh One Radio Pictures, is the feature film debut for writer/director Matthew T. Price, and writer/producer Kelly Morr. The film is also produced by Curt Chatham, and features Lianna Liew (Truth Or Dare), Sam Schweikert (Hart of Dixie), and Melanie Friedrich (Positive: Some Doors Should Remain Closed). Megan Hui (The Gambler), and Carson Nicely (The Conan O’Brien Show).

You can follow the production on their website, www.OtherHalv.es or on IMDB. You can also follow the film on Facebook, Twitter (@OtherHalvesFilm), and Instagram (@OtherHalvesFilm).

The Mouse...VP/co-owner of LC Films, Editor-In-Chief of LeglessCorpse.com...just your average guy with what is most likely an unhealthy affinity for horror movies, sci-fi, superheroes, bacon, old cartoons and horror movies. Oh, I almost forgot, I really dig horror movies; new ones, old ones, it matters not; I love 'em. Husband, father, veteran and scribbler. I like bacon as well. The Mouse abides 😉
