Directed by Sandy Hukadarian, Psychos (out now on VOD from Leomark Studios) tells of three young women that receive shocking videos anonymously reawakening a nightmare that ignites a thirst for bloody vengeance. They embark on a journey to locate the house, their sadistic captor and to discover the truth behind those locked doors. But, the most shocking revelation of this chilling tale is the identities of the victims.
Here at the ‘Corpse, we had the good fortune to speak to actress Angelica Chitwood about playing Sasha in the film.
LeglessCorpse: Congrats on the release of the film! Looks like the film is getting some good attention from the media – is that a relief, knowing people not only like it but outlets are covering it?
ANGELA CHITWOOD: It’s absolutely awesome! I’m so thrilled to have three films out with solid distributors within the last year. It’s quite a blessing! You never know what’s going to happen with independent films, so when they do well, it’s a proud moment for the whole team.
LC: Why do you think people are enjoying the film as much as they are?
AC: I think people like crazy and deranged characters, and we definitely serve several of them up in our film. Also, people like underdog stories and revenge stories, where the bad guys get what’s coming to them. We all have a bit of animal inside us that gets a thrill out of hearing stories like that, of victims getting revenge.
AC: I was cast in the regular auditions that were held the month prior to filming. So, late in the process, I guess. But then I got to help with some finalizing of casting, after being cast myself.
LC: What appealed to you about it initially?
AC: I love playing crazy, gritty, deep characters. And I was able to go to a lot of dark places with Sasha. Dealing with the heavy topic of child molestation and the anger and pain associated with victims of that type of abuse, gave me a lot to work with emotionally. Plus, she was the sexy, dominant, alpha, Badass, and that’s always fun to take on for me.
LC: Was there a screening for cast and crew?
AC: There was a few screenings at a few local film festivals in Los Angeles.
AC: Oh yes. Ha. Very used to it. I’ve been doing this since I was a wee girl.
LC: Can you tell us what your favorite horror movie of all time is?
AC: The Sixth Sense.. I like psychological thrillers.
LC: Tell us about your music and what’s next for you.
AC: I’m currently writing my new Soul album. I’ll be getting in the studio over the next few months to record it, and I’m shooting for a Oct 2017 release. I’m still trying to get my latest five singles out there, in my HEAL THE WORLD sequence. I also have a few music videos on YouTube. And while I get this next album going, I’ll keep getting my current stuff out into the public. I have a few small films coming up, as well, and I’m still enjoying the release of my other latest film ALL OUT DYSFUNKTION and THE CHOSEN. You can always stay tuned on my social media accounts:
