Story Time with THE BABADOOK: UK Trailer

The boogeyman is coming and he has vampire-like fingers and wears a top hat in this Australian terror show that premiered as part of the Midnight section at the Sundance Film Festival.

Synopsis – “Amelia struggles to discipline her 6-year-old son, Samuel. Samuel’s dreams are plagued by a monster he believes is coming to kill them both. When a disturbing storybook called ‘The Babadook’ turns up at their house, Samuel is convinced that the Babadook is the creature he’s been dreaming about. When Amelia begins to see glimpses of a sinister presence all around her, it slowly dawns on her that the thing her son has been warning her about may be real.”

Amelia must’ve skipped the book and read the CliffsNotes. She tries to barbecue the storybook but Mister Babadook keeps coming back for the boy. You can’t get rid of the Babadook, damn it!

The trailer is some freaky s***.

 

IFC Midnight will release The Babadook in the states on November 28th.
