BEUNINGEN, THE NETHERLANDS – Four years in the making, the graphic novel Ravenous 2.0 is published in the Mac App Store. Developed exclusively for the iPad format, its author and comic-illustrator Erik Menno van Os fell in love with a 9.7 inch multi-touch Retina display and forgot about print.
Ravenous is the app that contains an English language supernatural horror told through 600 drawings. Executed in atmospheric black-and-white and shades of grey the single panel views explore a cinema-like experience.
Logline: What does it take for bad cop Hugo Kingsley to discover both his hunt for a serial killer and his love for a haunted thief serve a dark and ancient purpose?
Van Os (1965) is a media professional, storyteller and cartoonist and has published many stories. In 2007, inspired by the advances of digital media, he decided to hazard another go at a long story. His never-forgotten nightmare served as the source for his Ravenous, which he wrote out as a novel first.
Van Os graduated from Utrecht School of arts in 1991 with a degree in television program making before releasing two comic books under the name Gnoe: ‘Amen’ (1993) and ‘Mama’ (1996)
