DRIFTER is a micro-budget action/thriller feature film inspired by films such as THE PROPOSITION, WOLF CREEK and MAD MAX with a little TEXAS CHAIN SAW MASSACRE thrown in for good measure.
DRIFTER centers on a pair of outlaw brothers, Miles and Dominic Pierce, in a post apocalyptic desert wasteland. They are on their way to kill the man who murdered their father however their mission takes a drastic detour when their car is hijacked causing them to take shelter in the eerie town of Deml.
The brothers quickly discover the town is inhabited by a family of cannibalistic lunatics and their sadistic Mayor, Doyle. Now they must fight for survival to escape the town.

Chris has made a bunch of short films including FUEL JUNKIE, BLOODSHOT ANIMALS, WHITE TRASH and VODKA 7 all dealing with serial killers, junkies and gangsters. WHITE TRASH had its World Premiere at the Chinese Theatre for the 17th Annual Dances With Films film festival and won ‘Best Guerilla’ short for the 10th Annual Action on Film film festival. VODKA 7 won ‘Best Cinematography’ at the WILDsound film festival in Toronto and screened at Tribeca Cinemas for the 9th Annual Big Apple film festival. His latest short film, FUEL JUNKIE recently had its premiere screening at Sony Picture Studios and is currently on the festival circuit. DRIFTER is his debut feature film.
Chris von Hoffmann’s biggest influences are Scorsese, William Friedkin, Jean-Pierre Melville and Abel Ferrrara. Some of his favorite films are FINGERS, CHINA GIRL, ANOTHER DAY IN PARADISE, THE SHINING and KILLING ZOE.
If you’re wondering what our plan for the film is, it’s simple. Since production is scheduled to wrap August 20th, that only gives us a small time frame to piece the film together in post production for the 2016 Sundance deadline. Since we don’t want to be forced to rush the film, we’ll be gunning to submit it to the 2017 Sundance Film Festival as well as several “Genre” film festivals like FrightFest and Fantastic Fest. We also plan to release this film through digital distribution (i.e. iTunes, VOD, Netflix).
