CLUSTER is a hard hitting short horror film by writer director D. Ryan Mowry. With all short films, it’s hard to review without giving to much away. What I can say is it’s a surreal interpretation of what it feels like to deal with knee-dropping headaches, and this is conveyed very well with no dialogue.
The Man comes home after work, pops open a beer and tries to get some rest, but everytime he dozes off a hooded figure shows up and does really torturous things to him, preventing him from any peace, when he awakens the pain the figure inflicted is still present, I’m assuming representing the pain the headaches are causing.
The makeup effects are gritty but good, better than most effects in a low budget feature and the acting is wonderful. For the audience to pickup what is going on in a short with no dialogue always says something about the talented folks in front of the camera and the director behind it.
Over-all this is a great entertaining way to spend 8 minutes of your life. Seek it out and give it a watch!
