HELL BABY: A Not So Laugh Out-loud Horror Comedy

From the makers of Reno 911, well I’m certainly glad I’ve never watch an episode of that show.

Here’s a quick synopsis from IMDB.

An expectant couple who moves into the most haunted house in New Orleans call upon the services of the Vatican’s elite exorcism team to save them from a demonic baby.

This movie is not a comedy nor a horror movie and certainly not a horror comedy. The film is strung together like a sketch comedy with one scene after the other that make no sense when edited together as a feature. The performances are dry, the punch line of the jokes are underwhelming and not funny at all. It kind of makes me think who watched this and thought it was at all.

The final sequence of the film, when the Hell Baby is born is kind of fun. The blood effects and the Hell Baby himself look pretty cool, but I didn’t laugh or even chuckle once watching this. I just kept checking the run time in hopes that it would be over soon.

Skip this one folks.
