EXCLUSIVE : Ari Kirschenbaum LIVE-EVIL director talks about this weekend’s upcoming Comikaze screening!

live_evil_screeningThis Saturday, at Stan Lee’s Comikaze Expo, Simian Tales unleash Live-Evil, the new horror-comedy from director Ari Kirschenbaum starring Charlene Amoia, Vincent Ward and Tony Todd.

Kirschenbaum, who will be present at the event for a Q&A, expects the Comikaze audience to – sorry about the zombie pun – eat the film up.

“It has been in a series of festivals leading up to Comikazee, which is the biggest audience so far.”

And having Tony Todd (Candyman) in the movie “gets the target audience to pay attention”.

Not all horror convention screenings work well though, says Kirschenbaum, so he is prepping himself for some alternate feedback to the movie.

“It’s a double edge sword, the ideal target audience, but they can also be the most discerning.”

With Amoia (How I Met Your Mother) winning best actress at Scare-A-Con for her performance in the film, and Kirschenbaum winning Best Director at another, there’s some significant heat around Live-Evil at the moment.

“We’re talking to distributors, there are so many content outlets now, but of course we are hoping for the widest release.”
